Sam Hou Fai highlights unity, integrity and innovation focus for new Government team
The Chief Executive-designate, Mr Sam Hou Fai, said he would lead the sixth-term Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government with the philosophy “Striving Together, Upholding Integrity and Innovating”. This was in order to push forward the work of most concern to the general public, while continuing to advance key initiatives crucial for long-term development. Mr Sam today led the designated principal officials and Prosecutor-General appointed to serve in the sixth-term MSAR Government in a meeting with the press. The event followed the State Council’s appointment of those individuals, which it announced on Saturday (30 November). Mr Sam also announced during the press conference the Deputy Chief of the Office of the President of the Court of Final Appeal, Ms Chan Kak, will be the Chief-of-Office of the Chief Executive’s Office. The sixth-term MSAR Government will be inaugurated on 20 December 2024. Speaking at the press conference at the Government Headquarters, Mr Sam stated that with the strong leadership of the Central Government and the robust support from the country, Macao will undoubtedly achieve high-quality development, provided that it fosters social consensus, strengthens its capabilities, and encourages confidence and innovation. Such effort will write a new chapter in the successful practise of “One country, two systems” with Macao characteristics, he said. Mr Sam expressed gratitude for the trust and support of the Central Government. In accordance with Article 50 of the Basic Law of the MSAR, the appointments of the new principal officials and Prosecutor-General were made following Mr Sam’s nominations. Mr Sam said the nomination process went smoothly, with the State Council accepting his nominations yesterday (Saturday), and officially appointing the principal officials and Prosecutor-General. The composition of the new-term Government, in terms of its principal officials and Prosecutor-General, embodied the spirit of integrity and innovation, said Mr Sam. The new team fully met the requirements he previously mentioned as necessary for those serving as principal officials. This is that the team members are patriotic and loyal to Macao; have a strong sense of national security; have a commitment to public welfare; and are capable, courageous, and possess a team spirit. The new appointees all come from the public service sector, with some having served as principal officials in the previous-term administration or even the term before that. The newcomers were all officials with director-level experience. They have a strong professional background, years of service in various positions in society, rich administrative experience, familiarity with governmental operations, and an understanding of public sentiment. This would facilitate the transition period in terms of their work and the commencement of various tasks, after assuming office, added Mr Sam. The Chief Executive-designate for the sixth-term Government said the new Government team would take proactive measures, and focus on solving deep-seated contradictions and issues in the development of the MSAR. It would shoulder the mission entrusted to it by the country, effectively respond to the new requirements and expectations of the general public in terms of a better life, and live up to the trust and expectations of President Xi Jinping, the Central Government, and the residents of Macao. In the next stage, the new Government team would swiftly familiarise itself with various aspects of work, while ensuring continuity of existing measures and initiatives, including those related with the celebration of the MSAR’s 25th anniversary. This would ensure a smooth transition of responsibility and power. After taking office on 20 December, the new Government team will work diligently to prepare a new Policy Address, in order to realise elements of Mr Sam’s election manifesto as key points of focus of the Government’s work in the next year. The team would earnestly listen to the opinions of various sectors of society, experts, scholars, and patriotic organisations. During the press conference, Mr Sam was asked about fresh initiatives – once he had taken office – to integrate Macao better into national development. He said integrating with the national development agenda was a crucial task for Macao, that must be carried out effectively. After taking office, there would be close cooperation with the Guangdong Government and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, in order to make full use of the respective strengths of the three places in jointly integrating into the national agenda, and for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. Such collaboration aimed to complement the three places’ respective development strengths, and to enrich the practical benefit derived from the “One country, two systems” principle. Such collaboration would also lead to discovery of new opportunities for Macao’s development. The mission of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin was to serve the appropriate economic diversification of the Macao and to exemplify a strong advantage of the “One country, two systems” principle, said Mr Sam. The new-term MSAR Government would work closely with Guangdong Province for the better advancement of the joint-administration principle of the Cooperation Zone. Whether the Cooperation Zone, the Greater Bay Area, or participation in the Belt and Road initiative, all involved cross-boundary elements and required enhanced coordination among all parties, said Mr Sam. In terms of promoting appropriate economic diversification, there would be an emphasis on requiring all functional departments to enhance coordination. In the process of advancing their work, they would be required to better identify more opportunities for the benefit of the development of Macao.

New principal officials pledged to serve Macao in unity
The appointed principal officials and the Prosecutor-General-designate to serve in the sixth-term Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government, have pledged to devote their utmost effort to realise the new-term Government’s vision of “Striving Together, Upholding Integrity and Innovating”, and to serve the country and Macao. The Chief Executive-designate for the sixth-term Government, Mr Sam Hou Fai, today led the newly-appointed principal officials and Prosecutor-General-designate in a meeting with the press. The event followed the State Council’s appointment of those individuals, which it announced on Saturday (30 November). The team of principal officials and the new Prosecutor-General comprises: Mr Cheong Weng Chon as Secretary for Administration and Justice; Mr Tai Kin Ip as Secretary for Economy and Finance; Mr Wong Sio Chak as Secretary for Security; Ms O Lam as Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture; Mr Tam Wai Man as Secretary for Transport and Public Works; Mr Chan Tsz King as Prosecutor-General; Ms Ao Ieong Seong as Commissioner Against Corruption; Ms Ao Ieong U as Commissioner of Audit; Mr Leong Man Cheong as Commissioner General of the Unitary Police Service; and Mr Adriano Marques Ho as the Director-General of the Macao Customs Service. Among those, Mr Cheong Weng Chon, Mr Wong Sio Chak, and Mr Leong Man Cheong are reappointed as the Secretary for Administration and Justice, the Secretary for Security, and the Commissioner General of the Unitary Police Service, respectively. During the press conference, the officials expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Central Government for their respective appointment. They also thanked the Chief Executive-designate, for the trust shown in them. Mr Cheong Weng Chon stated that in the new-term Government, he would work in line with the philosophy of “Striving Together, Upholding Integrity and Innovating”, in order to refine MSAR's legal system for safeguarding national security; and enhance the quality of public governance capabilities and governance standards through administrative reforms. He would pay heed to the public’s opinions and to suggestions from various sectors of society; continuously enhance municipal services and infrastructure; and create a better living environment for the residents. Mr Tai Kin Ip stated that he would spare no effort in utilising the experience and knowledge accumulated over the years in the financial and economic fields, to serve the country and Macao. He expressed gratitude to all colleagues in the current economic and financial sector for their substantial work in the face of complex and changing circumstances over the past few years. This had laid a solid foundation for promoting economic recovery; and for advancing the “1+4” strategy for Macao’s appropriate economic diversification effort, as well as the next phase of such diversification effort, in the context of close collaboration with Hengqin. In the future, the financial and economic team would humbly listen to opinions from all sectors of society, unite in purpose, develop the economy, improve people’s livelihoods, and implement the governance philosophy and goals of the new-term Government. Mr Wong Sio Chak expressed his commitment to continue implementing a people-first modern policing model established over the past five years. He would continue to uphold, in a proactive manner, the holistic view of national security, along with social order and public safety, and would serve the community via a comprehensive approach, continuously enhancing the overall effectiveness of prevention and control measures in relation to risk in such matters. Over the next five years, he would be guided by the principles of “Striving Together, Upholding Integrity and Innovating”, reviewing shortcomings, being vigilant, and taking responsibility. By employing various effective measures, he aimed to safeguard more efficiently national security, and to maintain social stability in Macao, striving to ensure that residents can live and work in harmony. Ms O Lam stated that work in the social and cultural sector is closely related to people’s livelihoods. The incoming Chief Executive placed great emphasis on this sector in his policy agenda, demonstrating his high degree of focus. Ms O said that in the upcoming five years, she would uphold the spirit of loving the country and Macao, stay true to core aspirations, and serve the residents with diligence, humility, and dedication. The goal is to optimise a rule of law in Macao, to have a vibrant Macao, a Macao of culture, and a happy Macao, so that the city can achieve high-quality development under the “One country, two systems” principle. Mr Tam Wai Man said that the work in the transportation and public works field covers various aspects of society and people’s livelihoods. He would uphold scientific and innovative thinking, professionalism, and a pragmatic attitude. He said he is dedicated to enhancing the level of urban construction, and strengthening the construction and maintenance of infrastructure related to people's livelihoods, so that they can align with, and actively integrate into, the overall development of the country. His team would address and improve matters on issues of concern to the public; conduct proactive promotion of policy; attentively listen to opinions from all sectors; and make every effort to enhance the quality of life for the people. Mr Chan Tsz King stated that in his new position, he aimed to excel in terms of the comprehensive promotion of the goal of building a country, government, and society, based on rule of law. In accordance with the governance philosophy of the sixth-term Government, he would prioritise upholding national sovereignty, security, and development interests as the highest principles. He would do everything in his power to lead a group of judicial officers to enforce the law rigorously and fairly, ensuring justice. He had plans to strengthen coordination and teamwork among personnel in the Public Prosecutions Office, with each person fulfilling their duties effectively. Together, they would strive to create a team that can correctly wield judicial power, earning the trust and recognition of society and of the residents of Macao. The goal would be to make every effort to ensure that every resident of Macao feels fairness and justice in judicial cases. Ms Ao Ieong Seong stated that in the future, she and her team would stand firm at their posts, fully cooperate with Mr Sam’s governance philosophy of building a clean, just, efficient, and fair rule-of-law society, and enhance the building of integrity. In terms of anti-corruption efforts, she would adhere to the principle of handling cases in accordance with the law; continue to crack down on corrupt practices in both the public and private sectors; and deepen integrity education, to achieve improvements in terms of addressing symptoms and fundamentals. In the field of administrative complaints, the goal would be good governance, supervising matters so that administrative organs carry out administrative procedures in accordance with the law. She and her team would spare no effort in promoting the improvement in the level and quality of public services within administrative bodies, as well as enhancing among public officials awareness of integrity and dedication. Ms Ao Ieong U said the role given to Macao by the country has been increasingly prominent, and the work of the MSAR Government has also become more comprehensive and systematic. There was a higher expectation from the general public regarding audit work, especially in terms of performance audits. In the future, she would lead the team with a professional, independent, responsible, and objective attitude, to complete its work. The team would actively innovate, continuously improve itself, strictly adhere to the ethical and professional standards of auditing, and diligently fulfil its auditing supervisory tasks. Furthermore, it would reference past experiences in managing and optimising departmental operations, in order to continue enhancing the implementation of transparent, efficient systems for managing public resources. Mr Leong Man Cheong stated that he would live up to his mission, strive together with his team, have the courage to shoulder responsibilities, and resolutely fulfil statutory duties. In the future, he would: collaborate with various departments to break barriers, collectively realising a multidimensional, new social governance system; continue to address effectively risks and challenges; firmly implement the holistic concept of national security; and uphold the principles of safeguarding the country's security, sovereignty, and development interests. He hoped these efforts would provide a solid foundation for the appropriate diversification of Macao’s economy, and its better integration into overall national development. Mr Adriano Marques Ho expressed the view that customs work was facing fresh challenges. These included: safeguarding national security; preventing terrorist activities; combatting smuggling; enhancing port-clearance capabilities; assisting Macao in better integrating into overall national development; and promoting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In the future, he would spare no effort to fulfil the duties entrusted to him by law, and continue to make work-related reforms, based on the foundation of past work by the customs team, as well as upholding the important responsibilities of customs, exploring new horizons, and serving citizens effectively.

LRT Hengqin Line Officially Opens Today
LRT Hengqin Line officially opened today (December 2), extending the LRT network to the Hengqin Port, connecting Macao and Hengqin. This new transportation option provides residents and travelers with access to Hengqin Port and reflects the integration of public transport networks within the Greater Bay Area. The opening ceremony was held at 11 AM at the LRT Hengqin Line Lotus Station, jointly officiated by Chief Executive, Mr. Ho Iat Seng and Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Mr. Raimundo Arrais do Rosário. The President of the Board of the Administration of Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation, Limited., Mr. Ho Cheong Kei, stated his speech that the opening of the Hengqin Line, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the planning and construction entities from both regions for overcoming numerous challenges to build this "Connecting Line" that tightly links Macao and Hengqin. The opening of the Hengqin Line is of great significance, facilitating the connection of rail transit between Macao and the mainland China, and aiding Macao to more actively integration into the one-hour living circle of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Mr Ho Cheong Kei emphasized that the MLM is committed to upholding the service philosophy of "safety and convenience," fully dedicated to the operation of the Hengqin Line. The MLM will continuously optimize and enhance service quality and strengthen safety management, ensuring that every passenger enjoys a comfortable ride experience. With the launch of the Hengqin Line, it is hoped to provide convenient travel options for the residents of Macao and travelers using Hengqin Port. After the opening ceremony, the Hengqin Line will commence passenger service in the afternoon, with the first passenger train departing from LRT Hengqin Line Lotus Station at 1:11 PM. The total travelling time of the line is about 2 minutes, and trains frequency is about 6 minutes.

State Council appoints principal officials and Prosecutor-General of sixth-term Government
The State Council has today announced the appointment of principal officials and Prosecutor-General to serve in the sixth-term Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government. The appointments were made in accordance with the Basic Law of the MSAR and following nominations by the sixth-term Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai. The newly appointed officials for the sixth-term Government are: Mr Cheong Weng Chon serves as the Secretary for Administration and Justice. Mr Tai Kin Ip serves as the Secretary for Economy and Finance. Mr Wong Sio Chak serves as the Secretary for Security. Ms O Lam serves as the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture. Mr Tam Wai Man serves as the Secretary for Transport and Public Works. Ms Ao Ieong Seong serves as the Commissioner Against Corruption. Ms Ao Ieong U serves as the Commissioner of Audit. Mr Leong Man Cheong serves as the Commissioner General of the Unitary Police Service. Mr Adriano Marques Ho serves as the Director-General of the Macao Customs Service. Mr Chan Tsz King serves as the Prosecutor-General. The sixth-term Government will be inaugurated on 20 December 2024. The sixth-term Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, will hold Sunday (1 December) at 10am a press conference at the Government Headquarters. CE congratulates the newly-appointed principal officials and Prosecutor-General
The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today congratulated the individuals appointed by the State Council as principal officials and Prosecutor-General to serve in the sixth-term Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government. The State Council appointed the new team of principal officials and the new Prosecutor-General, as mandated by the Basic Law of the MSAR. The appointments were based on submissions by the sixth-term Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai. The list of appointees was published today. In his statement, Mr Ho said he hoped the new appointees would strive to perform to the best of their capabilities and – under the leadership of Mr Sam – serve the country and serve Macao in accordance with a spirit of unity and innovation. That, he added, would contribute to fresh progress in Macao’s development and to the steady implementation of the “One country, two systems” principle in Macao. The sixth-term MSAR Government will be inaugurated on 20 December 2024.

2025 MGM Macao International Regatta to be held from 8 to 12 January
The 2025 MGM Macao International Regatta, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, MGM, and Ursa Major Sailing Event Management, co-organized by the Marine and Water Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Macau Sailing Association, and supported by the Zhuhai Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, will take place from 8 to 12 January 2025. A key highlight of the upcoming regatta is the introduction of the ‘World Match Racing Tour – Macao Match Cup’, a special event recognized by World Sailing as a World Championship-level competition. This race also serves as the opening event of the 2025 season for the World Match Racing Tour. Alongside the ‘Lotus Cup (IRC)’ and the ‘Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cup (IRC)’, these three major competitions form the main events of the 2025 MGM Macao International Regatta. The World Match Racing Tour, a key partner for this regatta, has been committed to advancing the sport of sailing since its establishment in 2000. As one of the most prestigious sailing events globally, it holds the ‘Special Event’ status granted by World Sailing. The tour's annual champion is honored with the title of World Champion. The Macao Match Cup is anticipated to attract the world’s top sailors to Macao, delivering exhilarating and high-caliber competition for spectators. The organizers held a press conference today (3 December) at Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau to announce the details of the event, and guests included: Mr. Luís Gomes, President of the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Mr. Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited; Mr. Ma Man Wai, Chairman of Ursa Major Sailing Event Management; Mr. Wong Man Tou, Head of Maritime Activities Department of the Marine and Water Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Mr. Li Yue, Vice Chairman of Macau Sailing Association; members of the Sports Committee along with other esteemed guests. The regatta will take place in the waters south of the Macao Science Center and the waters south of Hac Sa Beach. It is expected to host around 270 athletes from about 22 countries and regions, including 12 teams competing in the ‘World Match Racing Tour – Macao Match Cup’, 9 teams in the ‘Lotus Cup (IRC)’, and 11 teams in the ‘Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cup (IRC)’. To ensure the event's professionalism, the organizers have invited internationally certified arbitrators and judges from World Sailing to officiate the races. [Linking China-PSCs Opportunities] Macao Enterprises Conducted over 100 Business Negotiations to Expand New Business at the CISCE And IPIM Promoted the 2nd C-PLPEX
To give full play to the advantages of Macao as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) and to foster the optimisation and upgrading of the industrial supply chains between China and PSCs, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) exhibited at the 2nd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) , and organised a 17-member Macao entrepreneur delegation to participate in the event in Beijing from 25 to 28 November, facilitating about over 100 business talks. According to some representatives of the Macao delegation, they received many co-operation intentions, and reported that joining the event enabled them to develop their businesses. During CISCE, IPIM representatives introduced the development opportunities of Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao to over 80 participating companies. At the same time, IPIM seized the opportunity to promote the latest business advantages of Macao and Hengqin, as well as the 2nd China-Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Expo (Macao) (C-PLPEX) to be held in 2025, striving to transform more mainland enterprises into investors and exhibitors for PSCs and Macao-Hengqin, and to jointly enhance Macao’s presence as an International Metropolis. The 2nd CISCE Attracted Exhibitors from Nearly 70 Countries, Regions and International Organisations, over 60% Exhibitors Were from Fortune 500 The 2nd CISCE was hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and co-ordinated by the China International Exhibition Center Group Co., Ltd. at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing with the theme “Connecting the World for a Shared Future”. The exhibition covers about 120,000 square metres, sectored into with six zones for key industrial chains, one exhibition area for supply chain services, and one green agriculture chain sub-exhibition area, embodying the theme “chain” with the event’s design. The five-day exhibition concluded today (30 Nov). Over 600 companies and organisations from nearly 70 countries, regions and international organisations exhibited at this year’s CISCE. More than 60% of exhibitors were from Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders. The proportion of international exhibitors increased from 26% at the 1st CISCE to 32% this year, indicating that CISCE provides enterprises an efficient and professional business matching platform. “Going Global” – 2nd C-PLPEX+ Exhibition and Investment Promotion IPIM organised a 17-member delegation of Macao entrepreneurs from areas including emerging industries such as MICE, commercial and trade industries to attend CISCE. During their stay in Beijing, in addition to participating in the meetings and forums of the 2nd CISCE, the delegation also visited the CCPIT Beijing Branch, and the Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce. The delegation was invited to the “2024 Beijing Industrial Chain Investment Promotion Conference” hosted by the CCPIT Beijing Branch, in which exchanges were held between Macao and Beijing companies to deepen understanding of each other’s business environment and latest industrial development, and to promote economic and trade co-operation. IPIM extended a sincere invitation to the relevant units to organise specialised and advanced enterprises to participate in the 2nd C-PLPEX scheduled for 2025, and received positive responses. Setting Up the Pavilion with “Two New Elements” + Pro-actively Contacting Over 80 Exhibitors to Make Good Use of Macao’s China-PSCs platform In addition, at the 2nd CISCE, IPIM set up the “China-PSCs Platform@Macao” Pavilion, introducing two new elements to strengthen the “business-to-business” (B2B) effect of connecting China-PSCs business opportunities. The pavilion this year had an area of 144 square metres, with an increase of 60% compared with last year. For the first time, ten commerce and trade associations from the “PSC Products - Technical Support Partners” and “China-PSCs Business Platform - Market Development Partners” were invited to participate in the exhibition, demonstrating the platform’s services to help enterprises at home and abroad seize opportunities between China and PSCs, and conducting joint investment promotion. The pavilion showcased more than 60 signature exhibits from nine Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as drum performances and photobooths, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the unique charm of Portuguese-speaking countries. During the exhibition, IPIM representatives took the initiative to contact over 80 exhibitors to deepen their understanding of the market development potential of Portuguese-speaking countries, and Macao’s positioning as a platform between China and PSCs, and the “China-PSC Business Compass” service provided by IPIM. According to some Macao companies, through the highly internationalised and professional CISCE, the world’s first national-level exhibition with the theme of supply chain, they did not only promote their brands, but also identified potential industrial chain partners more effectively, providing better services to companies around the world. And it could also help Macao’s “1+4” industries become bigger, better and stronger. Some trade visitors also said that since they were planning to expand overseas markets, the “China-PSCs Platform@Macau” Pavilion opened up the door to for them to discover the great development potential of Portuguese-speaking countries. In the future, they may start the related service chain enterprises in Macao, to jointly explore business opportunities together.

CE meets Angola's Secretary of State for Higher Education to bolster education cooperation
The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today met with the Secretary of State for Higher Education of the Republic of Angola, Mr Eugénio Adolfo Alves da Silva. The officials exchanged views on the continuous promotion of higher education cooperation between Macao and Angola. During the meeting at the Government Headquarters, the Chief Executive said he welcomed Secretary Alves da Silva’s visit to Macao, and gave him a briefing on the development achievements of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) in the nearly 25 years since its establishment. The Chief Executive noted education is crucial for the development of any country or region. At present, Macao has a total of 10 institutions of higher education. The MSAR Government has been consistently dedicating significant resources to promoting the development of Macao’s overall education system, and would continue to enhance the educational standards in Macao, especially in science and research area. Macao and Angola have always maintained close ties and a good relationship, due to historical ties, said Mr Ho. Secretary Alves da Silva’s visit to Macao this time, including meetings with MSAR education officials and with multiple universities, would help deepen mutual understanding in the field of education, and promote bilateral cooperation in educational affairs. Mr Ho added he looked forward to seeing more teachers and students from Angola coming to Macao for exchange and study. Secretary Alves da Silva outlined his schedule for the current visit to Macao, including exchanges with the Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau, and visits to multiple institutions of higher education in Macao. This was with a view to deepening hi564rtys understanding of Macao's education sector and establishing connections for future educational cooperation. The Secretary said he believed that Angola and Macao had potential for cooperation in areas such as teaching, research, and curriculum development. Future cooperation agreements could promote reciprocal visits by teachers and students from the two places. Mr Alves da Silva also mentioned there were currently 22 Angolan students studying at various universities in Macao. The Secretary said that – through the presence of those students – he looked forward to strengthening ties with Macao’s institutions of higher education, thus aiding cooperation in the field of education between the two sides. Other officials attending the meeting included: the Consul-General of Angola in Macao, Mr Eduardo Velasco Galiano; Deputy Consul of Angola in Macao, Ms Teresa João Alvaro dos Santos Tiago; and advisor to the Office of the Secretary of State for Higher Education of Angola, Mr Benedito Cipriano Malheiro.

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will introduce a promotional webpage “Fancy Treats at Your Fingertips” to bring into the limelight more than 450 special offers of local integrated resort enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR. The themed webpage will be available between 1 and 31 December. Macao residents and visitors can check out and enjoy these offers in the city for a deeper experience of Macao’s diverse “tourism +” and unique charm, in joyful celebration of the handover anniversary. Enjoy 450 special offers and spend more around Macao for handover anniversary The promotional webpage “Fancy Treats at Your Fingertips” showcases a wide range of special offers presented by various integrated resort enterprises, SMEs and transport service operators in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR. There are more than 450 special offers including around 280 catering offers. The special offers cover dining, shopping, accommodation, leisure and entertainment as well as admission tickets. The website enables residents’ and visitors’ seamless access to such information, with the aim to spur spending in festive December and promote community travel as consumers stream into local districts, especially through SMEs’ offers, for greater synergistic effect. Launch on 1 December with multichannel promotions The platform “Fancy Treats at Your Fingertips” (https://macao25offer.macaotourism.gov.mo) will be available between 1 and 31 December, in Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Portuguese and English. MGTO will promote the platform through different channels such as social media, “What’s On” and promotional video production, as well as providing promotional posters for participating businesses, to attract more local and visiting viewers of the website about various offers, leading to more robust tourism and spending.

Adjustment to criteria to purchase Macau New Neighbourhood effective today
The criteria to purchase a residential unit at Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) in Hengqin has been adjusted, including removing the age limit, removing the five-year resale restriction, and adjusting the calculation of the amount of residential unit that one can purchase, which means eligible Macau residents are no longer bound by the restriction where a married couple is counted as one unit. The adjustments are effective today. MNN is open to holders of Macau resident identity card to purchase. The measure to improve and adjust the sales criteria of Macau New Neighbourhood has been approved by the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and published by the Urban Planning and Construction Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) would like to express its sincere gratitude for the support from the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin on the MNN project, combining the development of the Cooperation Zone and response to residents’ needs. MUR will continue to improve livelihood service to create a more comfortable and convenient living environment for residents. Livelihood facilities in use, shops opened The health station, school, family and community service centre as well as the seniors’ service centre at MNN are all in operation. As of mid-November, the resident registry has recorded over 750 households that have moved in to the neighbourhood, where they cam use the clubhouse and outdoor recreational facilities. Shops that are already opened in the neighbourhood include a supermarket, a bank, coffee shop, cha chaan teng, laundry shop, beauty salon, hairdressers and parcels pick-up point, among others, taking care of the neigbourhood’s leisure and everyday needs.
