The General Audit Committee of the Legislative Assembly Election announced today the confirmed results of the direct election for the sixth Legislative Assembly.

After reviewing some ballots that had been matters of contention, a total of 39 votes originally deemed invalid has been confirmed valid. The previously announced official results of the direct election remain unaffected.

A total of 174,872 ballots was cast on Sunday (17 September) for the direct election. There were 172,628 valid votes; 944 blank ballot papers; and 1,300 invalid votes.

The 14 members-elect of the sixth Legislative Assembly are:

1. Mr Mak Soi Kun with 17,214 votes;
2. Ms Lei Cheng I with 16,696 votes;
3. Mr Si Ka Lon with 14,879 votes;
4. Mr José Maria Pereira Coutinho with 14,386 votes;
5. Mr Ho Ion Sang with 12,340 votes;
6. Mr Au Kam San with 11,381 votes;
7. Ms Leong On Kei with 10,452 votes;
8. Ms Song Pek Kei with 10,103 votes;
9. Mr Ng Kuok Cheong with 10,080 votes;
10. Ms Lam Iok Fong with 9,590 votes;
11. Ms Wong Kit Cheng with 9,496 votes;
12. Mr Sou Ka Hou with 9,213 votes;
13. Mr Zheng Anting with 8,607 votes; and
14. Mr Leong Sun Iok with 8,348 votes.

The confirmed results are on display and accessible to the public at the Election Information Centre in the Public Administration Building and the website of the Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election.
