High rank officials of Macao and Zhaoqing today (18 Feb) agreed on the development of a partnership on tourism at a meeting held in Zhaoqing.

The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao Special Administrative Region, Chui Sai On and a 24-member delegation visited Zhaoqing today under the program of a four-day visit to the Guangdong Province, to discuss regional tourism programs and joint promotions.

Mr. Chui and the Mayor of the Zhaoqing, Jiang Haiyan talks over a project to promote two-cities tours package for tourist to the Pear River region.

Mr. Chui Sai On underlined the mutual advantages of a partnership between Macao, a city of tourism, gaming and conventions center, with Zhaoqing, a city famous for its landscape.

Mrs. Jiang Haiyan referred Macao’s performance in tourism development as an example for Zhaoqing and wished that the partnership could benefit the tourism industry in the region.

After the meeting, the Secretary and MSAR delegation visited the Lake of Xinghu and Dinghu area.

The delegation will visit Shenzhen tomorrow.
