Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) and Viva Macau Airlines joined hands to promote Macau tourism in Vietnam and Indonesia, to further expand the South East Asian source market for Macau.

“Experience Macau. Fly Viva Macau” Festival was held in Ho Chin Minh City and Jakarta in late July. Con Korfiatis, CEO of Viva Macau Airlines and MGTO representatives co-hosted the event in both cities.

MGTO expressed that the cooperation with Viva Macau Airlines, “Experience Macau. Fly Viva Macau” will certainly attract more visitors from Vietnam and Indonesia to experience and enjoy their vacation in Macau.

Con Korfiatis, CEO of Viva Macau Airlines said that Viva Macau Airlines is the only airline flying visitors from Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta directly to Macau. This festival will allow them to know more about Macau and to create a new travel trend of visiting Macau. He added that Macau, an ideal destination with world heritage, new state-of-the-art facilities and east meets west cultural uniqueness is only two and five hours away from Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta.

“Experience Macau. Fly Viva Macau” Festival showcased Macau’s scenic photos, Las Vegas style carnival dance and Flamenco band performances, Portuguese folk dancer and Viva Macau’s brand ambassadors giving out special souvenirs. Macau Food Tasting Corner offered tasty snacks while interactive games awarded limited-edition prizes.

Statistics showed rapid growth of visitor arrivals from Indonesia and Vietnam to Macau for the first six months of this year. Indonesian visitor arrival figures recorded over 77,000 with an outstanding increase of 69.2 per cent. On the other hand, Macau welcomed nearly 32,000 visitors from Vietnam, a 67.25 per cent growth.
