On 9 April 2026, a delegation from Srinakharinwirot University (Thailand) visited the Macao University of Tourism (UTM). The two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen exchanges and collaboration in areas including talent development and academic research. The signing ceremony was held at UTM’s Mong‑Há Campus, with the MoU signed by Dr. Fanny Vong, Rector of UTM, and Associate Professor Dr. Cholvit Jearajit, President of Srinakharinwirot University, on behalf of their respective universities.
Srinakharinwirot University is a public autonomous university located in Bangkok, Thailand. It comprises multiple faculties and offers a diverse range of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes covering hospitality and tourism, business administration, sports and leisure, education, economics, social sciences, arts, medicine, engineering, agriculture, and other disciplines. Under the MoU, the two universities will engage in practical and multi-faceted cooperation, including faculty and student exchanges, academic collaboration, and joint research initiatives. Through these efforts, both parties aim to facilitate the sharing of educational resources and jointly advance academic development.
Rector Fanny Vong expressed her pleasure at strengthening ties with Srinakharinwirot University. She noted that the signing of this MoU marks an important step in UTM’s ongoing efforts to promote internationalisation and expand educational partnerships in Southeast Asia. The collaboration will not only provide broader exchange and learning platforms for faculty and students but also foster closer linkages between cultural and tourism education in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and Thailand. She expressed hope that this partnership would further deepen cooperation in talent cultivation and teaching and research innovation, jointly nurturing tourism and hospitality professionals with global perspectives, supporting the international development of Macao’s cultural and tourism industries.
Following the ceremony, the delegation from Srinakharinwirot University toured UTM’s teaching facilities and campus environment. They expressed high recognition of UTM’s educational philosophy and teaching achievements and conveyed strong confidence in future collaboration between the two universities.
