At the invitation of the Vice Mayor of the Shanghai Miniciple Government, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Chui Sai On, led a delegation of 18 to Shanghai on 10th Feb, to boost the co-operation in sports, cultural activities, tourism and education between the two cities.

The delegation included the Director of Government Tourist Office and Coordinator of Macau Grand Prix Committee, João M. Costa Antunes, and some members of the committee.

The delegation has visited the F1 track, expected to be completed for hosting a session of the World Formula-One Race in 2004.

The delegation has also met with the Shanghai Sports Bureau, to discuss co-operation in organizing motor sport. Both sides have agreed that Macau could help Shanghai to organize the race and provide training to the people working in the F1 race.

Macao had 50 years of experience in organizing motor sport.

As for the co-operation in tourism, the delegation has met with the Shanghai Tourism Administrative Committee, the Shanghai Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Committee, and the Shanghai Education Committee, disussing cooperations in various fields.

The visit would came to an end on 13th Feb.
