  • The 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games are being jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The events will be staged in November and December 2025.

  • Macao will host an aggregate of five core competition categories across the meetings as a whole, including four for the 15th National Games. The latter are for: table tennis, 3x3 basketball, 5x5 basketball (under 18 boys), and volleyball (adult women). The city will additionally host badminton competition events for the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games. Macao will also host a mass-participation event for karate within the 15th National Games.

  • In order to review and optimise every aspect of the operation of the games, the Organising Committee for the Macao Competition Zone of the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games is holding test events in May and June for the five competition categories Macao is hosting.

  • A test event for the 5x5 basketball (under 18 boys) category was held at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from 10 to 11 May, successfully reaching all the objectives that were set by the organisers.

  • Test events cover a wide range of processes relating to competition arrangements. These include timing and scoring systems, venue setup, volunteer services, reception arrangements, media interview schedules, logistical support, video and audio systems, medical evacuation planning, crowd management, and security work.

  • Test events cover a wide range of processes relating to competition arrangements. These include timing and scoring systems, venue setup, volunteer services, reception arrangements, media interview schedules, logistical support, video and audio systems, medical evacuation planning, crowd management, and security work.

  • Test events include drills, such as simulating an athlete being injured in a fall during competition, and thus requiring urgent medical attention. This examines the level of coordination between on-site medical staff, and evacuation teams, and event-management staff, and so enhances on-site emergency response capabilities.

  • The 5X5 basketball test event featured four basketball teams from Macao, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, and Jiangmen, split into two groups. The public – residents and tourists alike – were permitted to attend the test and get a preview of the energetic atmosphere to be expected at the 15th National Games and associated events.

  • The 5x5 basketball (under 18 boys) event of the 15th National Games will take place from 10 to 18 November at the Studio City Event Center and the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion, in Macao. Other venues for Macao-hosted activities of the 15th National Games and associated events include: the outdoor lawn at the South Gate of Wynn Palace, the Venetian Arena, and the Macao East Asian Games Dome.

  • The National Games, held every four years, are the country’s highest-level and largest-scale comprehensive national sports event. They are a significant platform for promoting the development of the sports sector, demonstrating the country's comprehensive strength in this field, and facilitating interprovincial and interregional exchanges and cooperation.
