Visitor arrivals for July 2026

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that number of visitor arrivals increased by 2.4% year-on-year to 3,542,218 in July 2026. Same-day visitors (2,107,744) rose by 6.4% year-on-year while overnight visitors (1,434,474) dropped by 2.9%. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1.1 days, with that of overnight visitors (2.4 days) remaining unchanged.

As regards source of visitors, visitors from the Chinese mainland increased by 5.4% year-on-year to 2,701,203 in July, with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme (1,493,612) rising by 9.6%. Visitors from the Taiwan region (104,833) went up by 13.9% year-on-year, while those from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (561,713) dropped by 10.2%.

International visitors totalled 174,469 in July, down by 1.9% year-on-year. Regarding the Southeast Asian markets, visitors from the Philippines (32,865) and Thailand (12,081) fell by 13.3% and 2.2% respectively. With respect to the South Asian markets, visitors from India (10,261) surged by 66.4% year-on-year. For the Northeast Asian markets, visitors from the Republic of Korea (27,531) decreased by 14.7%. As regards long-haul markets, visitors from the USA (15,859) increased by 0.4% year-on-year.

In the first seven months of 2026, number of visitor arrivals rose by 8.0% year-on-year to 24,486,664; same-day visitors (14,997,588) grew by 13.9% while overnight visitors (9,489,076) edged down by 0.3%. Number of international visitors totalled 1,596,917 in the first seven months, up by 5.1% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the cumulative average length of stay of visitors decreased by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1.0 day, with that of overnight visitors (2.3 days) remaining unchanged.
