The preparation for the upcoming economic forum between China and Portuguese-speaking countries was in full swing, Chief Executive Edmond Ho stressed in an address today (22 Sept).

He said that Macao had maintained links with Portuguese-speaking countries in various areas, such as business, culture and tourism industry.

The edge of Macao to function as the business platform between the Mainland and the Portuguese-speaking countries would be recognized in the forthcoming business forum, Edmond Ho said.

The Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao) is scheduled to hold on 12-14 Oct.

Ministerial officials and entrepreneurs from the Mainland and seven Portuguese-speaking countries will attend the forum.

The Portuguese-speaking countries possess tremendous natural resources and a market of 200 million people. Macao is looking forward to becoming the business and service platform between these countries and the Mainland.
