The Health Bureau announced today (17 April) that preventive measures against SARS in the three check points would be stepped up during the four-day Easter Holiday, aiming at greater protection for the public from SARS.

According to a press release from the Health Bureau, more medical staffs would be allocated at the consultation post in the chick points to actively monitor the arrivals. People with symptoms would be asked to have their body temperature measured.

Meanwhile, The Health Bureau was informed by the Hong Kong SAR Department of Health that three Macao residents was on board a Lufthansa flight (LH738) from Frankfurt to Hong Kong on 4 April, which a Hong Kong resident on board was found to have contracted SARS, The Health Bureau urged the three people to contact them and report their health condition during this period, although the time between they flight until now was longer then the incubation period of the disease.

The press release also indicated that no SARS cases or suspected cases was found in the check points today (up to 17:00) although one inquiry was answered at the consultation post in the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal.

No SARS cases were recognized in Macao up to this point. The press release confirmed.
