Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has issued typhoon signal No. 3. Owing to the tropical storm, stronger winds are forecast in Macao. Typhoon information is on noticeable display at MGTO’s Tourist Information counters. Via telecommunication companies, the Office has sent civil protection information to visitors in Macao and Macao residents in other destinations by mobile text. The latest weather news is reposted on MGTO’s website and social media platforms. Tourism Hotline (2833 3000) operates 24 hours a day to attend to visitors’ enquiries.

Suspended facilities and services during typhoon signal No. 8

If typhoon signal No. 8 or above is hoisted in Macao, the arrangements for the services, facilities and projects below will be as follows:

• Public transportation services and the free shuttle bus service “Tourism and ‘Leisure’ Buses” will be suspended;  
• MGTO’s Tourist Information counters will be closed temporarily;
• Macao Grand Prix Museum will be closed temporarily;
• Affected workshops at the Macao Grand Prix Museum will be rescheduled for a new date to be announced later;
• Last admissions to Mak Mak Experience Hub at Ritz Building will be one hour before the issuance of Typhoon Signal No. 8.

MGTO has convened a work meeting with industry operators and sent them official letters about concerns to attend during typhoon and formulation of coping plans. Hotels are required to place notices about cyclone signal in effect and Macao’s transport arrangements during typhoon at their lobbies or visible locations.

In accord with weather conditions, MGTO promptly advises visitors to pay attention to updates about the weather, transport services and schedules through the tourism industry’s notification system for important information, in order to facilitate visitors’ timely rearrangement of itineraries and minimize the impact of the typhoon.
