The 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (the “Expo” or “MITE”) will take place at Halls A, B and C, Cotai Expo of the Venetian Macao for three days from 10 to 12 April. The public is welcome for free admission. Under the theme of Global Convergence, Future Horizons, the event will be unveiled next Friday (10 April) and bring together global tourism resources and innovative elements to open up new business opportunities for cooperation across the sectors of “tourism +”.

Travel trade platform opens up to the world with 1,500 booths

The 14th Expo occupies a total area of 30,000 square meters with about 1,500 booths by far. To date, over 700 exhibitors and more than 600 hosted buyers from home and abroad have registered for participation, which reflects the Expo’s status and influence as a prestigious international platform for businesses across the world. Over 130 themed sessions such as various destination presentations, industry forums, workshops and performances will take place during MITE.

President of Macau Travel Agency Association, Alex Lao, expressed in the recent press conference for MITE that as the sole largest international travel fair in Macao, MITE has become one of the most iconic events that embody the positioning of Macao’s development into a world centre of tourism and leisure endorsed by the Central Government. The event attracts over 10,000 worldwide exhibitors, professional buyers and public visitors every year with over 10 million online impressions. Established in Macao and joining hands with the Greater Bay Area, the event will contribute to the Country and connect with the world, helping to create new quality productive forces in the local tourism sector amid the dedication to becoming a powerful driver for sustainable development and an enhancer for dialogue and cooperation among tourism operators from near and far.

Time-limited special offers and grand lucky draw

The Expo presents the latest tourism information and products from Macao and worldwide, including Expo-limited special offers from different exhibitors. Public visitors can purchase hotel accommodation, travel packages, air tickets and other discounted products presented by exhibitors, to plan their upcoming trips on Labor Day and summer holidays. By a single purchase of any product(s) worth 300 patacas or more on site (valid within the three days of MITE), consumers can join the “MAK MAK grand lucky draw” for a chance to win attractive prizes.

Instant discount vouchers to obtain before MITE from today for on-site redemption  

MITE partners with Luso International Banking Ltd. this year to launch the instant discount vouchers for obtainment before MITE from today (2 April). Public visitors can obtain the MITE-limited instant discount vouchers on Luso International Banking Ltd.’s mini-program on WeChat. During MITE, public visitors can use the vouchers for an immediate price deduction of 100 patacas by purchasing product(s) worth 1,000 patacas or above at exhibitors which accept e-payment via the Bank. The discount is set to bring more public visitors and boost sales of tourism products.

Free admission for the public for three days

The 14th MITE will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on 10 April, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on 11 April and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 12 April. Admission tickets will be distributed for free at the entrances of Halls A and C. During the three-day Expo, free shuttle bus service will be provided between the event venue and four local points on Macao Peninsula and Taipa. Free parking will be available to the public at Halls D and E.
