The University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) today (5 March) held an opening ceremony for its Eighth FBA Business Week. The event attracted many UM faculty members and students, as well as industry practitioners. During the ceremony, Wilfred Wong, president and executive director of Sands China Ltd, gave a talk titled ‘Leadership in the New Age’.

UM Rector Yonghua Song, FBA Dean Jacky So, and Wong officiated at the opening ceremony. In his speech, Song said that the Business Week is an important annual event of the faculty. It brings together heads of companies in various financial fields, members of the community with rich experience, experts, scholars, and outstanding FBA alumni, who give talks to students to broaden their horizons and prepare them to become future leaders of the fields.

During his talk, Wong shared his insights into company governance and discussed the important factors for successful leadership in the new era. He also talked about how a company can establish a competitive advantage and how managers can lead their teams to success. The talk attracted nearly 100 industry practitioners, UM faculty members, and students.
