Published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and produced by the 100 Plus Cultural Creative Development Ltd., the March issue of the magazine C2 launched on 2 March for readers to experience the arts and to probe into the opportunities in the arts market.

Visual arts is the most approachable form of art for the general public, as it can be found everywhere in a city. Every year, Macao hosts a number of arts exhibitions and expos, providing artists opportunities to publicise their artworks. Though the local visual arts scene has yet to become a vibrant and flourishing one, the feature story in the March issue has invited Macao artists and curators to talk about market opportunities in Macao. Accomplished graphic designer Chiu Kwong Chiu appears in “Chit Chat” to share his thoughts on the traditions, the aesthetics and the creative industries through his stunning art pieces themed around the Forbidden City, studies on Hollywood Road of Hong Kong, and his exquisite animated scrolls. Every year from spring to early summer, Macao and Hong Kong have their arts calendars filled with arts festivals. This time’s “Extravaganza” looks at the running and challenges of arts festivals. “Around the Globe” reveals how the tiny country of the Netherlands uses TV programmes such as The Voice of Holland to dominate the heartbeats around the world, in addition to exploring its insights in promoting the creative industries. Rai Mutsu, Joe Lei, Wong Cheng Pou, Hung Kuo-hsiung, Ling Lui, Yap Seow Choong and Sharky Chen are writing in “Blogs” this month, sharing information and successful stories on the creative industries in Macao and overseas, worth to be read and referenced.
