The Air Services Arrangement between Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region came into effect immediately after the signing today (October 13).
The arrangement provides a framework for air service between the two regions.
The Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Mr Ao Man Long, signed the arrangement on behalf of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government while the Secretary for Economic Development and Labour, Mr Stephen Ip Represented the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.
Both secretaries commented on the arrangement as a milestone for the development of air service between the two regions and helps to promote the cooperation between the two regions in civil aviation, economy and trade and tourism.
Under the arrangement, airlines on both sides will enjoy equal opportunity to operate scheduled services, including helicopter services, between Hong Kong and Macao.
