The Chief Executive arrived Xiamen today (7 September) afternoon to attend the Seventh China International Fair for Investment and Trade, which had been slated to open this Monday morning.
Arriving at the Xiamen airport, Edmond Ho was welcomed by Ye Shuangyu, the Vice Governor of Fujian Province.
He then met with Vice-Premier Wu Yi soon afterwards.
In the evening, Mr. Ho met with Lu Zhangong, the Governor of the Fujian Province, and Huang Ruilin, the Vice Secretary of the Fujian Provincial committee of the CPA.
During the meeting, Edmond Ho said that Macao could function as the commercial platform between Fujian Province and Portuguese-speaking countries.
He invited Governor Lu to visit Macao in October and attend the A-Ma Cultural Festival.
On Monday, Edmond Ho would attend the CIFIT opening ceremony and would give a speech at the International Investment Forum.
The CIFIT is an annual investment promotion activity, which is organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Xiamen Provincial Government.
The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute organized over 60 businessmen to participate in the CIFIT, in order to promote the Forum for Economic Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao), which had been scheduled to hold next month.
