Secretary of Social Affairs and Culture would lead a delegation to Beijing on 24 August to discuss with the China National Tourism Administration about allowing more Chinese to visit Macao individually, according to a press release by the Office of SSAC.
Mr. He Guangwei, Chairman of the China National Tourism Administration would talk to Secretary Chui about the newly introduced policy.
Secretary Chui would brief the Mainland officials the present situation of Macao’s tourism industry and terminal management after the introduction of the policy, as well as health related topics such as promotion of public hygiene and epidemic prevention.
In the evening of 25 August, Secretary Chui and the delegation would travel to Urumqi at the invitation of the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region Government.
Secretary Chui was scheduled to visit several schools and institutions during his stay in Xinjiang.
In the past few years, Macao had supported Xinjiang in several aspects, such as developing elementary education, educational TV station for distance learning, I.T. education and staff training for tourism industry.
