The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) held its 2026/2027 postgraduate welcoming activities on 28 August at the First Phase of Macao-Hengqin International Education (University) Town, helping new students familiarise themselves with the campus facilities and academic teams.

In her welcome address, UTM Rector Dr. Fanny Vong noted that over 200 postgraduate students will have class at the first phase campus this academic year to embark on a “dual-city learning” journey. She highlighted the complementary strengths of Macao and Hengqin, which together offer students a unique platform for learning and practice. She encouraged students to explore boldly, innovate fearlessly, and make full use of the University Town’s shared facilities and industry-academia-research resources to broaden their academic horizons.

Rector Fanny Vong also emphasised that UTM continuously integrates technological elements into its curriculum design, equipping students with the skills to navigate future industry transformations. The University remains committed to aligning with national development strategies, actively contributing to the 15th Five-Year Plan, and deepening the integration of industry and education, with the goal of cultivating applied and interdisciplinary talents for the tourism, cultural, commercial, and emerging sectors.

The event featured interactive sessions between faculty and new students, providing an opportunity to learn about academic arrangements and campus life. On the same day, the University also held welcoming activities for the MBA programme and a welcome dinner for the DBA programme, both of which were well received with lively interaction among faculty and students.

The welcoming activities concluded successfully. UTM will continue to provide comprehensive academic and living support for its students, helping them make the most of the resources available in Macao and Hengqin as they embark on their dual-campus learning journey.
