Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “3rd Macao International Children's Arts Festival” will feature Stone Wolves, an original children's puppetry show created and produced by Portuguese company Trupe Fandanga, from 14 to 17 August at Box I of the Macao Cultural Centre. The organiser held a media meeting today (12 August), inviting Artistic Director Sandra Neves to share the creative concept and distinctive features of the work.

Children's puppetry show Stone Wolves uses wood, metal, and various curious objects to construct an ever-changing islet setting, paired with deft, whimsical puppets, to portray the different emotions and imaginations within Pedro's heart, as he gradually grows through his journey of self-discovery. The performance runs approximately 40 minutes and is available in Cantonese and Portuguese versions, suitable for audiences aged 6 and above, inviting children and adults alike to step into the inner world of the young boy Pedro.

The large-scale children's variety show Peace and Future will be performed on 16 August at the Small Auditorium, Macao Cultural Centre. The star-studded Soong Ching Ling Angel of Peace Art Troupe will present the rich essence and contemporary vitality of China's outstanding traditional culture through a diverse array of artistic forms, including Peking opera, dance, folk music, choral singing, and martial arts.

“Where Culture Flourishes, Happiness Happens” – community flash mobs for the children's variety show Peace and Future will also take place at 5:00 PM on 13 August at the Ruins of St. Paul's, and at 6:30 PM on 16 August at Anim’Arte Nam Van, infusing the community with the artistic atmosphere from the stage.

In addition, the children-beloved “Where Culture Flourishes, Happiness Happens” – “MICAF Fun Day” Arts Carnival will go on from Friday to Sunday in the last two weekends of August at the Macao Cultural Centre Plaza, featuring interactive performances, handicraft workshops, game booths as well as “splash party” and “foam party”, bringing a perfect close to the hot summer.

Tickets for the “3rd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival” are now available through the Enjoy Macao Ticketing at ticketing.enjoymacao.mo. Registration for the workshops is available through the “Activity Applications” of the Macao One Account (activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5/activity-list-web). Admission to some of the activities is not free of charge.
