As cracks caused by ground subsidence appeared at certain sections of Taipa Grande Trail, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) is now carrying out repair works to protect public safety. The trail sections being repaired have to be temporarily enclosed, resulting in inaccessibility or restricted access. Members of the public are advised to pay attention to the signs on site and avoid entering the enclosed areas.
The trail sections covered by the repair works this time include the part from Taipa Grande Trail Entrance “T1” to Taipa Grande Camellia Garden, and the part from Taipa Grande Viewing Platform to Distance Post “2-01-06”. The works mainly involve the repair of the cracked and subsided asphalt surfaces of the above trail sections, including backfilling, subgrade reinforcement, temporary suspension and restoration of electricity supply, and improvement of water supply and drainage facilities. The works are expected to be completed within September, and the exact duration may be longer due to weather or other reasons.
During the works period, certain trail sections have to be temporarily closed or partly enclosed. IAM reminds the public to pay attention to the arrangements of enclosure and stay away from the works area to avoid accidents. IAM apologises for any inconvenience caused during the works period. For enquiries, the public can call the Civic Service Hotline 2833 7676.
