In September 2015, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange announced to impose an annual limit of 100,000 yuan on overseas cash withdrawals per Mainland bank card starting January 2016, while the daily limit of 10,000 yuan on overseas cash withdrawals per Mainland bank card is still in effect. In order to further strengthen the measures to regulate Mainland bank card cash withdrawals, limit per transaction of cash withdrawal by Mainland bank cards is set at MOP/HKD5,000 with effect from 9 December 2016, while the daily limit remains unchanged.

The above measure is not expected to have any impact on day to day ATM cash withdrawal through ATM by Macao residents, neither normal overseas cash withdrawal by Mainland bank card holders will be affected.
