  • From a bird’s-eye view, even large buildings in Macao look like puzzle blocks.

  • This aerial shot offers a view of, respectively: the Friendship Bridge; the new urban reclamation zone known as Area A; the artificial island for the Macao checkpoint serving the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge; and a portion of the main structure of the cross-boundary, sea-spanning bridge.

  • Here a picture shows the road linking the new urban reclamation zone known as Area A, to the roundabout where the Oriental Pearl sculpture is located, in the northeastern portion of Macao Peninsula.

  • Guia Hill is the highest point on Macao peninsula. From that vantage people can enjoy some panoramic views of the sea and of Macao’s cityscape.

  • Here, the impressive cluster of buildings in Macao’s central district can be seen from above.

  • This photograph, captured by an aerial drone, shows a wider view. It takes in Macao peninsula in the foreground. To the far left of the picture is the edge of Taipa; to the immediate right of that, part of neighbouring Zhuhai’s Hengqin Island; and on the extreme right of the picture, Zhuhai’s Wanzai district and the Shizimen Canal.

  • Here we can see two of the three bridges that connect Macao peninsula to Taipa.

  • Landfill work can be seen in this photograph in full swing for the new urban reclamation zone known as Area C. It is located just off the current shoreline, parallel with Avenida do Oceano in Taipa. The zone will eventually extend from the south side of Sai Van Bridge to the south side of Governador Nobre de Carvalho Bridge. The landfill scheme, once completed, will accommodate mainly public facilities and estates of public housing.

  • In this aerial shot, in Taipa, we see an interesting contrast between recent high-rise buildings, and the traditional low-rise architecture of Old Taipa village.

  • Here, the massive integrated resorts of Cotai can be seen on either side of the main north-to-south thoroughfare, Estrada do Istmo, commonly referred to as the ‘Cotai Strip’. The venues stand as symbols of Macao’s prosperity.
