The latest edition of Macao’s annual winter flower show is taking place near the Taipa Houses at Avenida da Praia in Taipa. The popular horticultural gala featuring an aggregate of 200,000 blooms, including many tulips, runs until Sunday (5 January).

The show, which this year takes as its theme “Return of Aromas”, features thousands of tulips. The latest edition commemorates the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

The rich variety of tulips featured in the latest edition of the winter flower show transforms the surroundings of Taipa Houses into a refreshingly-scented and vibrant field of colour.

The blooms add an extra splash of colour to an already festive season.

The exhibition venue is divided into three areas. The first, “Light and Shadow Dance in Celebration of the Return” employs the golden lotus as the central feature. In the background are sculptural representations of some of Macao’s landmark places.

The second area is titled “Magical Vibrant Celebration”, creating an interactive and dream-like experience of colour via sculptural forms, a gallery of lights and selected blooms.

The third area, “Aroma Paradise”, gives the impression of a vast sea of tulips, a setting designed to transport the viewer’s imagination to an idyllic world offering rest and play.

The flower show runs until Sunday (5 January), with the public at large welcome to appreciate the beauty of the blossoms in the Taipa Houses setting.
