  • Macao put on a float parade extravaganza on the third and sixth days of the Lunar New Year, to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Pig. The event – featuring several groups of performers – attracted a large number of spectators to join the Lunar New Year festivities.

  • To celebrate Macao’s inclusion in the UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network in the field of gastronomy, the parade – themed as “Return home for Chinese New Year” – featured several gastronomy-related decorations. Each of the 18 floats in the event represented a traditional Chinese New Year dish deemed auspicious, to invoke blessings of good fortune, longevity and good health on residents and tourists alike.

  • On the third day of the Lunar New Year, the parade set off from Sai Van Lake Square. It featured a total of 18 floats and 32 local and international performance groups, with performers wishing spectators along the route good health and prosperity.

  • The parade travelled along Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen on Macao Peninsula onto the Macao Science Center, its final destination, creating a joyful and memorable experience for all involved. Several performances kept spectators entertained through the evening.

  • A colourfully dressed stilt walker performer interacts with the audience, sharing the Lunar New Year spirit with the community.

  • Performers express their wishes for prosperity and good fortune to spectators, as the parade travels along the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre.

  • Impromptu jamming session with different performance teams adds to the event’s playful and vibrant atmosphere.

  • On the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, the parade turned the Northern District into an outdoor theatre, for an evening of dazzling performances.

  • The parade was followed by a cultural show staged at the Iao Hon Market Garden, featuring a series of fascinating performances that won applause from an entertained audience.

  • The meticulously designed floats provide lots of opportunities for photographs.
