  • The artificial island for the Zhuhai/Macao boundary crossing facilities is located to the east of New Urban Zone Area A, a land reclamation area on Macao peninsula. The artificial island links the main section of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to Zhuhai and Macao.

  • There is a bridge joining New Urban Zone Area A and the artificial island for the Zhuhai/Macao boundary crossing facilities. The bridge is of 140 metres in length, with dual 2-lane carriageway.

  • The State Council has approved the Macao Special Administrative Region’s jurisdictional oversight of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge boundary crossing area serving Macao. The control point is governed by Macao laws, starting after the stroke of midnight on 15 March 2018.

  • The Macao boundary crossing area covers 71.61 hectares and has structures with a total gross floor area of 600,000 square metres.

  • There is a building for customs clearance, and two public car parks, and another 53 buildings for municipal use.

  • The Macao boundary crossing area has about 200,000 square metres of space dedicated to infrastructure including road network, tunnels, flyovers, railway platforms and municipal facilities.

  • Government departments have started installation of necessary equipment, and are performing testing and trial runs of the boundary crossing area’s facilities, in order to prepare for the launch of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

  • The Macao boundary crossing area is an important part of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and a significant infrastructure for Macao to take part in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
