The Chief Executive, Edmund Ho in his New Year message emphasized that a distinct objective had enabled Macao residents to look ahead with confidence.
Edmund Ho noted that the liberalization of the local economy had entered a new stage in the past year, during which, Macao residents, regardless of the difficulties that they endure or the signs of recovery that had appeared, have remained earnest and made steady progress.
He also noted that these qualities had laid a sound foundation for optimism toward the coming year, which would be significant in the sense of developments with the leading industry progressing into full operation and the related sectors rejuvenated, moreover, new investments would expectedly stimulate employment and in turn, consumption.
Edmund Ho emphasized that Macao residents' confidence in the future was also based on a distinct objective and a pragmatic course of development.
He also urged the civil servants to follow the positive attitude of the Macao residents and improve the services to the public and to respond the demand of the society on time.
