So far more than 230 exhibitors had signed up for 2009 MIECF. The exhibition venue is mainly divided into Macao Pavilion, Pan-Pearl River Delta Provinces/Regions Pavilion and European Union Pavilion, along with the booths set up by business executives, government and organization representatives from different countries and regions, including the United States, Portugal, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Zhuhai City, Zhongshan City and Zengcheng District of Guangzhou City. They will show advanced environmental products, equipments, technologies and introduce their markets.
Exhibitors of the 2009 MIECF include government departments, public institutions, enterprises, chambers of commerce and environmental protection organizations from Macao, Hong Kong, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Provinces and Regions and other mainland provinces and cities, as well as foreign Consulate Generals in Macao and Hong Kong.
With a total exhibition area of more than 12,000 square meters, 2009 MIECF will display the technologies in energy and water conservation, solar energy, collecting and recycling domestic waste, recycled construction materials, air purification, wind power and waste oil treatment.
Find the “Green Earth” at Macao Pavilion
At Macao Pavilion, visitors may understand the latest development of Macao’s green business as well as its emission reductions and energy conservation initiatives. The main theme of the pavilion is “Green Earth”, with a view to introducing the city’s experience in environmental protection with business operators and the public.
The exhibition area of the Macao Pavilion amounts to 900 square meters. Ten Macao Government departments are participating as exhibitors, including Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Environment Council, Macao Economic Services, Macau Government Tourist Office, Maritime Administration, Transport Bureau, the Office for the Development of the Energy Sector, the University of Macau, Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center and Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau.
Macao Pavilion is divided into a number of sections, namely “Green Development”, “Green Travel”, “Green Energy”, “Green Transport”, “Green Business” and “Green Ecology”. In this way, visitors may be able to understand the overall situation in Macao, the recent development of its green industry, its initiatives in promoting environmental protection and applying related technologies in different aspects.
Other exhibitors include the Macao Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Association of Macau, Macau Importers & Exporters Association, the Macau Association of Banks, Macau Construction Machinery Engineering Association, Macau Ecological Society, Macau Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Chamber of Commerce, International Lusophone Markets Business Association (ACIML), Wabag Water Services (Macao) Limited, Waterleau Macao Limitada, Macau International Airport Company Ltd., Macau New Technologies Incubator Centre, CCIC Macau Company Limited and Shun Tak-China Travel Ship Management Limited.
EU companies to enter Pan-Pearl markets through Macao
Many environmental protection entities that attended the 2008 MIECF recognized Macao’s role as a platform. Therefore, some environmental protection entities from the European countries actively participate in the 2009MIECF this year. They will set up the European Union Pavilion, which will boast a total exhibition area of 180 square meters, with a view to enhancing the exchange and co-operation opportunities with business operators from the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region.
There are 43 exhibitors at the European Pavilion, displaying a variety of innovative environmental protection technologies on water purification, sewage treatment and waste utilization, etc.
