The Macaology Translation Series, edited by Hao Yufan, dean of the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Social Sciences; and Prof Tang Kaijian from the Department of History, has added the Chinese version of Fidalgos in the Far East, 1550-1770: Fact and Fancy in the History of Macao, authored by Charles Ralph Boxer, to its list. The book was translated by Dr Li Qing from the Department of History and is published by the UM Publications Centre.

This book on the early history of Macao was first published by Martinus Nijoff from The Hague in 1948. The second version was published by the Oxford University Press in 1968, and its Portuguese version was published by the Fundação Oriente in 1990.
