Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Ao Man Long said that the MSAR Government was dedicated to make Macao a bridge between small and medium-sized environmental-protection related enterprises in the mainland and abroad.
Mr Ao today (13 March) presided over the lauching ceremony of the “Report on the State of Environment of Macao 2002”.
In his speech he said that as the awareness of environmental protection has become more important globally, the MSAR Government would endeavor to develop Macao as a platform for transference of knowhows in environmental protection by creating feasible conditions and capitalizing the unique geographical privileges of Macao.
Meanwhile, Mr Ao underlined that the Government was following up on the application to the United Nation Enivornmental Program (UNEP) for the Global 500 award.
The award is a tribute to successes on the front lines of global environmental action. It is granted to individuals and organizations for outstanding achievements in the protection and improvement of the environment.
Prepared by the Environment Council, the “Report on the State of Environment of Macao 2002” consists of eight chapters in which analyse of data and information on different environmental aspects are presented
