The Office of Macao SAR Government in Beijing was inaugurated in the capital Thursday in an attempt to strengthen the cooperation between the Mainland and the SAR.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Chief Executive Edmund Ho and the Director of the Office, Ng Pak Meng, marking the commence of enhancing the communication and cooperation in economy, trade, tourism, culture and other areas between the Mainland and Macao.

Mr. Ho also attended the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition commemorating the promulgation of Basic Law in Macao held in the Office.

Some 200 guests attended the ceremony, including the Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Mr. Ma Man Kei and the director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Mr. Bai Zhijian.
