Secretary for Administration and Justice Florinda Chan said Wednesday (2 Jan.) the newly established General Office, with broader authority to manage and propel the civil affairs, to facilitate and executive civil education and the related training activities.
General Office for Civil Affairs, which was set up on 1 January 2002, was to substitute the Provisional Municipal Council of Macao and the Islands that terminated the works on 31 December 2001.
Ms. Chan witnessed the swearing in ceremony of the President and Vice President of the administration committee of the General Office for Civil Affairs.
The President of the administration committee of the General Office for Civil Affairs is Lau Si Io. Cheung So Mui and Vong Iao Lek are the vice-presidents of the administration committee of the General Office.
The General Office consists administration committee, supervision committee and advisory committee constitute. The term of office of all members from the committees will last for two years.
