The Tender Committee for the Casino-operator Concession expected to complete the opening of the 21 tenders on Thursday, said committee chairman, Francis Tam Pak Yuen.

The Tender Committee for the Casino-operator Concession has started opening the 21 tenders today (10 Dec.), in the witness of representatives of individual bidders.

5 to 6 tenders were expected to be opened per day, said committee chairman, Mr. Francis Tam Pak Yuen, with the estimated time of 2 hours needed to reviewing each tenders.

Each tender would be examined carefully, to verify if all necessary documentations are presented as the law required, which is necessary for the committee to gain better understand on each bidder, said Mr. Tam.

Mr. Tam said that the committee could decide on the acceptance of tenders only after the opening of tenders was completed.

He also said that the committee would evaluate the accepted tenders with a realistic approach and then to submit a report to the Chief Executive.

He also said that the SAR is capable of managing its economic affairs when being ask whether the central government is to be consulted on the decision of the gaming concession.

On the question of whether the committee would be able to complete the evaluation of all tenders before the end of the year, Mr. Tam said that the task would be processed as rapidly as reality would allowed.
