Pakistanis detained last night were not involved in terrorist activities

Security Authority clarified that the individuals requested by the police to assist in investigation during an operation last night were not involved in terrorist activities as indicated by some media reports.

According to a statement from the Secretary for Security's Office, the operation was one of the many measures to combat crimes.

Four of the seven Pakistanis detained in the operations last night, who were confirmed overstaying would be repatriated while the remaining three were released later this afternoon.

The Statement also stressed that the security authority of the Macau SAR had been working closely with authorities of other countries and regions to fight against cross-border crimes, including terrorist activities, in order to safeguard the property and life of the Macau residents, adding the SAR Government would support the Central Government's policy which is against all forms of terrorist activities.
