The Public Security Police last night detained five men who were suspected of belonging to a theft group, Office of the Secretary for Security said.
According to the Office, police had received a report saying that someone holding expired visa in an apartment in the centre of Macau Peninsula. Later police caught a man who confessed his involvement with a theft group at the apartment.
The Office said police caught other four men later at Hotel Lisboa, who were believed members of the same group, adding the five were all from Pakistan.
The Office also said that investigation would be continued in accordance with related clues. There could be a possibility that more people would be held for the involvement with the theft group.
