Waiting for buses or making a call in a street telephone in Macau will be more interesting as the SAR contracted French company JCDecaux's on the installation and maintenance of street furniture.
Secretary for Public Administration and Justice, Florinda Chan, represented the SAR Government to sign the concession with the Chairman of the JCDecaux's corporate, Emmanuel Bastide today.
According to the contract, JCDecaux's corporate is to supply street furniture such as street-lamps, public telephones, City Guides and bus stations to Macau, in return of the advertisement income generated with these facilities.
Emmanuel Bastide noted that the urban furniture that features of Macau will be presented on the street furniture installed in Macau. Installation will start in the peninsula of Macau at the beginning of next year.
Ms. Chan said that these facilities are expected to serve the residents of Macau as well as decorating the streets and help promoting tourism in the SAR.
