To commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth of General Ye Ting, and to allow the public to review the glorious time of the revolutionary predecessors and appreciate their honourable spirit of upholding their principles through photography, the exhibition “In Commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the birth of General Ye Ting – Light & Sword: Photographic Works of General Ye Ting”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), presented by the Macao Museum, and co-organised by the  Research Association of Yeting, will be inaugurated on 10 September (Thursday), at 10:30am, at the Tap Seac Gallery. Public attendance is warmly welcomed.

General Ye Ting was one of the founders of the People's Liberation Army of China and the Commander of the New Fourth Army. He was very fond of photography and left a large number of precious battlefield documentary images particularly during his tenure as Commander of the New Fourth Army. The exhibition “Light & Sword: Photographic Works of General Ye Ting” is divided into three thematic sections, namely “A Glimpse of his Life”,Photography on the Battlefield” and “Years in Macao”, featuring nearly 300 historical images related to General Ye Ting and his photographic works, reviewing his life and military career during the Northern Expedition, the Nanchang Uprising, the Guangzhou Uprising, and the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, as well as his profound affection for his motherland and its people. The exhibition also highlights the efforts of General Ye Ting in supporting the anti-Japanese resistance in Macao and his great contributions to the cause of national liberation and rejuvenation.

The exhibition “In Commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the birth of General Ye Ting – Light & Sword: Photographic Works of General Ye Ting” will be held from 10 September to 31 October. The Tap Seac Gallery is open daily from 10am to 7pm, including public holidays. Admission is free.
