The Education and Youth Development Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the “DSEDJ”) has paid close attention to epidemic prevention and has maintained close communication with schools to assess local epidemic development. After listening to the opinions of the health department, if there is no major change in the epidemic, all schools of non-tertiary education will resume classes from October 4. All sports and extracurricular activities will be suspended until further notice. Regarding tertiary education, face-to-face teaching is allowed to be resumed from October 4 onwards, according to the situation of tertiary education institutions.

At the same time, schools are required to strictly implement the guidelines on epidemic prevention issued by the DSEDJ and the health department, and to thoroughly clean and disinfect the school environment before class resumption.

In order to protect the health and safety of oneself, teachers and students, as well as to build a herd immunity barrier to stop the spread of the disease, the DSEDJ reiterates its call for all school staff and students who are eligible for receiving the coronavirus vaccine to receive it as soon as possible.
