The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government will not issue any comment regarding acts by the Heritage Foundation, an organisation in the United States of America. The Government notes the foundation had since 2009 included Macao on its own initiatives on its Index of Economic Freedom.

The Macao SAR Government has closely abided by the Basic Law of Macao in the maintenance of, respectively, the “One country, two systems” principle, "Macao people governing Macao" and the exercise of a high degree of autonomy. With the strong support of the Central Government, the Macao SAR has seen its economic development thriving.

The Macao SAR Government strongly opposes the spreading of groundless and baseless claims via the issuance of self-styled reports by overseas bodies.
