As Labour Day holiday is approaching, consumption by citizens are expected to increase, so are the number of inbound tourists. Consumer Council held a meeting earlier with Economic Services Bureau (DSE), Macao Government Tourist Office (DST), Transport Bureau (DSAT), Judiciary Police (PJ), Public Security Police Force (PSP), Macao Custom Service, Civic and Municipal Affairs Council (IACM), Health Bureau (SS), and Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) to discuss on the protection of consumer rights for local citizens as well as inbound tourists.

The Consumer Council hotline (8988-9315) will be available on 1 May, from 9AM to 6PM to receive consumers’ complaints and enquiries.

Traders are encouraged to offer more information of products and services to consumers. The Council also reminds consumers and tourists that if anyone finds his or her consumer rights being infringed, he or she should file a complaint at the Council or other departments and provide all necessary detailed information. Consumers may also choose to lodge their complaints online at the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), or through the Council’s official WeChat page.
