The University of Macau (UM) Department of Communication recently held a launch ceremony for the latest issue of the English student magazine Umac Bridges 2017. Themed ‘kaleidoscope’, this new issue depicts Macao from four angles, namely community, youth, creativity, and culture. The fruit of an English publication course for fourth-year students majoring in communication, the magazine demonstrates students’ professional skills in journalism, desktop publishing, and web production. The course was supervised by Prof Wu Mei. Participating students Heather Jean Birkeland who acted as. Project Manager and Charlotte Lei of Chief Editor shared their experience at the ceremony.
