The Macao International Convention and Exhibition CEO Forum 2008 and 2nd Forum of Exhibition Co-operation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao is one of the major forums of the 13th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF). Leaders and representatives from the exhibition industry from around the world will get together in Macao and explore development trends and co-operation opportunities in the industry.
The Macao International Convention and Exhibition CEO Forum 2008 and 2nd Forum of Exhibition Co-operation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao will be held at 4:00pm on 23 October (the opening day of MIF) in the Naples Room, Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel. The Macao International Convention and Exhibition CEO Forum 2008 is being organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Association (AFECA) and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM). The theme of the Forum is Embracing New Opportunities in Asia-Pacific Convention and Exhibition Development, highlights will include: promoting external trade and investment through conventions and exhibitions; regional co-operation and friendly interaction within the convention and exhibition industry; the impact of the diverse development of the convention and exhibition industry links throughout the region and the integration of the Macao trade and economic service platform with the Asia-Pacific convention and exhibition industry.
The 2nd Forum of Exhibition Co-operation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao is being organised by the Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Industry Association, Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association, Macao Convention & Exhibition Association, Macau Fair & Trade Association and the Association of Advertising Agents of Macau, with IPIM as the special supporting organization, Macao Convention & Exhibition Association, Macau Fair & Trade Association and the Association of Advertising Agents of Macau as co-ordinators and Macau Fair & Trade Association as the Executive Unit. The theme of the Forum is Beneficial Co-operation To Enhance Development, focusing on how Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao exhibition industry strengthens co-operation and development under the new trend, highlights include: interactive training and exchange of convention and exhibition personnel in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao; exchanges of convention and exhibition resources between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao; the organisation of delegations to participate in fair and conferences and specific plans for business matching for the convention and exhibition industry in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
Mr. Francis Tam, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government, has been invited as Guest of Honour to give an opening speech. Other guest speakers include Mr. Dong Songgen, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, Mr. Edward Liu, President of AFECA, Mr. Hong Hao, Director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Co-ordination, Mr. Paul Woodward, Regional Manager of Asia Pacific Office of Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and Mr. Ronald Unterburger, Managing Director of MMI-Munich International Trade Fairs Pte Ltd. In addition, Mr. Bu Canxiong, President of Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Industry Association, Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association and Mr. Li Zhizhong, Representative of the Associations of Convention and Exhibition Industry in Macao, will also give thematic speeches on the co-operation of exhibition industry between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
Leaders and representatives from international convention and exhibition organisations, exhibition enterprises and exhibition industry will attend the Forum.
All Macao, the Mainland and international convention and exhibition industry operators and businesspeople are welcome to join the Forum. Simultaneous interpretation services in Putonghua, Cantonese, Portuguese and English are available at the venue.
