Secretary for Transports and Public Works Ao Man Long said today (2 Nov) that the SAR Government was concerned over China Telecom's plan to increase in long-distance phone connection charges.

Ao Man Long said that all three local telecommunications operators had submitted applications for adjustment in IDD fee and the Office for Development of Telecommunications and Information Technology is studying the plans.

He also noted that the Ministry of Information Industry was aware of the reaction in Hong Kong and Macao to the issue.
