Chief Executive Edmund Ho said on Monday that the government has adequate means to supervise gaming concessionaires in fulfilling their investment plans and obligations stipulated by the concession contracts.
The Chief Executive departed for Beijing on Monday to attend the opening ceremony of the fifth session of the Ninth National People's Congress on March 5 and the opening ceremony of Office of Macao SAR in Beijing on March 6.
Upon departure for Beijing, Mr. Ho commented in response to the media reports on possible changes in the share holdings of gaming concessionaires would have a change in shares, emphasizing that changes of share holdings in these companies are normal providing that these changes were commenced in accordance with the Gaming Industry Regime.
He added that in line with the Regime, concessionaire had to inform the authority about the changes and in case changes of shares exceeded 5%, the authority had to make necessary assessment.
Mr. Ho stressed that any change of share should not affect the original investment plans/; meanwhile, the future gaming operational model had to be harmony with the Macao SAR policy.
