The experiences in gaming and related industries of the three provisional gaming concessionaires would be favorable to the development of the industry and the local Economy, said Mr. Francis Tam Pak Yuen, Chairman of the Tender Committee today (8 Feb).
The Tender Committee for Gaming Concession announced the provisional results of the tender on a press conference held at the Government Headquarters this afternoon.
The three provisional concessionaires are Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A., Wynn Resorts (Macau) Limited and Galaxy Casino Company Limited.
Three runners up, namely MP Entertainment Company Limited, MGM - Grand (Macao) Limited and Macau Star Limited in the tender were also announced.
Mr. Francis Tam Pak Yuen, who chaired the committee, said that the provisional concessions were granted to the three companies in the consideration of the shareholders' experiences in gaming and related industries, such as resorts and entertainment, Exhibitions and Conferences.
The decision was in line of the SAR's policy to develop into a regional entertainment, exhibition and conference center headed by the gaming industry, said Mr. Tam.
He also said that the committee was impressed by the plans of the three winners.
According to the Gaming Concession Tender Regulation, the Chief Executive would grant the concessions, given consideration to the report submitted by the Tender Committee.
Negotiation between the committee and the provisional concessionaires on the concession contracts is scheduled to start on 18 February, said Mr. Tam.
