The Identification Department of the Government of the Macao SAR was informed by the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong that, effective from 1 October 2001, holders of the Macao Special Administrative Region Passports were granted visa-free access to the Czech Republic for up to 90 days provided that the purpose of their stay is not study, employment or any other kind of gainful activity.

The Consulate General and the Identification Department hope that granting visa-free access to Macao SAR Passports will further promote business, trade and tourism ties between the Czech Republic and the Macao SAR.

Nationals of the Czech Republic have been able to enter the Macao SAR without a visa. With immediate effect, the period of visa-free stay for the Czech nationals is extended to 90 days on the basis of reciprocity.
