17 suspected dengue fever cases confirmed negative

All the 17 suspected dengue fever cases were confirmed negative, said Mr. Kui Kuok Ieng, director of the Health Bureau today (31 August).

Mr. Kui met with the representatives of medical sector this afternoon to discuss the handling of patients suspected to suffer from dengue fever, he also confirmed that no new case of dengue fever was found in the two hospitals up to this point.

Mr. Kui said in the meeting that if any suspected case of dengue fever was found in a private clinic, the patient, together with the record of the symptoms, should be transferred to the emergency department of either one of the two hospitals as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, several authorities and civic organizations continue to promoting information on dengue fever to the public, and mosquito eradication in various spots of Macau was continued today.
