Macao is to ban the import of fresh food, animal-derived food, sea salt, seaweed and other food products from Japan's 10 metropolis and prefectures, starting from 24 August 2023, in order to ensure Macao's food safety and the health of the city's population. The Municipal Affairs Bureau has put in place strengthened measures to detect radiation level of food imported from Japan.
