To step up anti-epidemic effort, the Government enforces stringent disinfection guideline on imported goods and cold-chain products on arrival in Macao.

All imported goods are thoroughly disinfected on arrival in Macao. Disinfected goods are marked with a special sticker and recorded in the manifest.

After disinfection of outer packaging, a certain portion of goods, depending on level of risk, will be screened for COVID-19 testing. The entire batch of goods will only be put up for sale when no abnormality found in the test.

Local suppliers are required to disinfect again outer packaging of imported goods before putting up for sale, in a bid to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19 through goods and fortify a defence line against the pandemic in the field of goods import.
