Macao International Music Festival 2020 takes the theme as “for a special year”, to mark the unconventional time for the world and everyone lives in it. One of the well-received community activities, the Street Piano Programme, continues in this year’s edition and is taking place until 30 December.

Two meticulously designed pianos are touring around several parks and leisure areas across Macao and Taipa, such as Taipa Central Park, Macao Science Center, Areia Preta Urban Park, Macau International Airport, leisure area in Rua Quatro do Bairro Iao Hon, and Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal.

One of the two pianos is designed by students from Iiha Verda School. This colourful creation is inspired by the game “hide and seek”.

Members of the public are welcome to play the pianos, being part of this distinctive musical feast and bringing music into every corner of the community.

The other piano is decorated by local painter Yang Sio Maan, with a theme “napping all night long”.

To comply with the prevention and control measures against COVID-19, the two pianos are regularly cleaned with photocatalysts and alcohol.

There are also alcohol-based sanitisers available. Members of the public are advised to clean their hands before playing the pianos and to wear a protective face mask while playing.

All are welcome to play the pianos, giving music fresh vigour to drift through every part of the city.
