  • Macao is now illuminated by festive lights to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

  • Lighting installations and colourful lanterns can be seen in a total of 66 locations from now until early October. One of the best viewing spots is Senado Square, where one of the displays forms a tunnel, evoking a feeling of travelling through time.

  • Rabbit-shaped lanterns are traditional decorations used for the full-moon festival. Those adorning the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau building near Senado Square provide a dazzling backdrop for festive photographs.

  • Lanterns resembling floating lotus pads and flowers – together with rabbit-shaped lanterns and other festive decorations – offer many opportunities for memorable photographs at the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau building.

  • Festive decorations transform the night-time look of the area around the historic Albergue SCM building complex. Natural moonlight is complemented not only by amber-coloured street-lights but also by gaudy lanterns. The combination provides a charming backdrop for a romantic evening.
